The Zora and I - Intro

It was a good day.

That Spring was unexpectedly pleasant, with a comfortable weather, a warm breeze and beautiful sunsets.

Walking slowly on my way home I saw the trees, the few small parks and the houses that ornamented the streets. Kids that just arrived from school ran aimlessly around, squealing happily occasionally while their parents took advantage of the perfect weather to perform a quick car wash.

The birds sang here and there, and the clouds floated in the sky like huge white splotches against deep blue satin. And under my feet, the warm ground welcomed each step of mine, helping me to win the distance that separated me from my home.
It was indeed a good day.

Except for it was exactly like all the others.

After the dinner, I went upstairs and walked into my room. It was a simple, yet nice room: a comfortable bed, a closet, a small TV and a video game console, my computer desk (which coincidentally held my computer), the desk's chair and a large window. All the rest was just random stuffed animals and accumulated mess.

I sat on the chair and checked the computer. No news, as I expected. I even tried to browse around for some minutes, forcing myself to find something to do, but the amount of nothingness was much more than I could bear.

I turned around and threw my body at the bed, sighing deeply.

"The boredom…" I whispered to myself, seconds before giving up on resisting the slumber.

I woke up three, maybe four hours later. I shook my head and looked outside the window – it was dark already. Keeping still and silent for a few moments, it was easy to guess that my family was already asleep.

I jumped out of the bed and made my way to the kitchen, downstairs. The whole house was dark and I had no interest in turning on any light; It was just about taking care on the stairs, the rest of the way was all in my memory.

Right when I opened the refrigerator's door though, I heard a rumble coming from my room. I stood motionless for a few seconds to be sure of what I heard – It didn't take too long until I could clearly hear another noise.

"Hello?" I whispered hesitantly.

Instead of an answer, I could hear yet another noise. It was like someone stepping across my room, stumbling in something.

I stood up and closed the refrigerator's door, my mind going automatically on stealth mode while I tried to control my breath and heart beats, both already slightly faster. Stepping up the stairs I quickly reached my room, which was now a huge mess. I felt the breath swiftly escape my lungs while a cold shiver ran through my spine. "T-there's someone here!?..." I thought, about to panic.

However, looking around, still completely motionless due to the fear, I couldn't see anybody for several –unbelievably long – seconds. It took me some effort, but I finally walked in, trying to analyze everything around me; until suddenly, the door shut behind me in a loud crash. I jumped and turned around in panic stumbling over a blanket that lay on the floor, trying to focus on what caused the door to close. My clumsy reaction caused me to tap my arm onto the light switch - What a lovely timing. Now the whole room was dark.

"W-who's there?" I asked automatically, half of me hoping nobody would answer.

It was when, slowly, a silhouette came out from the corner behind the door. Gradually my eyes got used to the dark and I could see better, detail per detail: a humanoid body, with some kind of weird wing at the back of its arms, a long, pointed nose and, at the back of its head… A fishtail?!

"W-what the?..." I couldn't believe my eyes. "A… Zora!?"
